Pokémon Go ‘Crown Clash’ event guide

Pokémon Go is running a royal-themed event, “Crown Clash,” that started May 10 and will run through May 18. The event features Nidoqueen and Nidoking wearing crowns, as well as the debut of Kingambit, the evolution of Bisharp.

In addition to the special spawns and stuff, there’s also a bonus that rewards doubled XP for evolving Pokémon. You also can find shiny versions of the crown-wearing Nidoqueen and Nidokings at an “increased chance,” alongside Slowpoke, Combee, and Litleo. Catching a Slowpoke may also net you a King’s Rock evolution item.

Below we list the perks and bonuses for Pokémon Go’s “Crown Clash” event, including the boosted spawns and Collection Challenge. Notably, there is no Timed Research for this event.

The following Collection Challenge will be live throughout the duration of the event:

• Catch a Snivy
• Evolve a Servine into Serperior
• Catch a Piplup
• Evolve a Prinplup into Empoleon
• Catch a Slakoth
• Evolve a Vigoroth into Slaking
• Catch a Combee
• Evolve a Combee into Vespiquen
• Catch a Slowpoke
• Evolve a Slowpoke into Slowking
• Catch a Litleo
• Evolve a Litleo into Pyroar

Reward: Pawniard encounter, 5,000 Stardust, 10,000 XP

Completing the Collection Challenge will also net another bonus: All trainers level 31+ will get a guaranteed Candy XL for evolving Pokémon.

Spinning a PokéStop during the event period may yield one of these tasks:

• Catch 10 Pokémon (Slakoth, Piplup, or Litleo encounter)
• Evolve 2 Pokémon (Slowpoke, Combee, or Snivy encounter)
• Power up Pokémon 5 times (Sneasel, Klink, or Pawniard encounter)
• Win a raid (Sneasel, Klink, or Pawniard encounter)
• Win 2 raids (Nidoqueen [crown] or Nidoking [crown] encounter)
